h excellent episode in the Gunsmith Series.The shooting in the back of Wild Bill Hickok has been recounted many,many times.Why did Jack McCall shoot Wild Bill in the back,did he do it alone and how come Hickok,strayed from his usual precaution of always sitting with his back to the wall? Also, how come a local unofficial jury pronounced McCall not guilty,despite the fact the shooting was witnessed by several people.After set free,McCall disappeared and the details as to how he was chased down and retried are quite vague.All this is considered true history.In this novel R.J.Randisi,comes op with an interesting saga about how Clint Adams takes up the cause to revenge Hickok's murder and bring McCall to justice.He fills in the gaps and.whether it is true or not ,is beside the point.and the story ends with the true demise of McCall and hanging on March 1,1877.Also we see what was inscribed on the gravestone of Wild Bill Hickock.
